Many people, including native Chinese speakers, run into the same problem when approaching the Romance of The Three Kingdoms (三国演义). The original classical Chinese text of this book can be challenging even to Chinese people, and that doesn’t even touch on the complexity and length of the narrative, which often requires maps and charts to be appreciated fully.
That being said, the importance and relevance of this book cannot be understated.
